Tamrac Slim Pack Laptop Case

Tarmac is a Californian company from Chatsworth, best known for photography carrying systems.  Having the know-how in how to put things on your back or into your hand, they started also to take care of creating bags for laptops, hand bags, shoulder bags and backpack bags.
With the new Tamrac Slim Pack Notebook Case, they jumped into unknown waters, since this thing is a laptop backpack for that specific kind of  taste for that specific type of people. 

The slim laptop backpack is a backpack which does not look like a backpack.  This is some sort of revolutionary.  The company states:” Its contemporary, thin profile allows you to carry your laptop without the bulkiness of a traditional backpack.” Indeed if you take a look at the picture of this backpack, it looks more like an attache case, rather than a laptop backpack.  The elegant design of the bag is so amazing, that you will know immediately, once you see the bag: This one is not for guys, this one is for girls or those who think they are girls only. 

And this turns out to be the big advantage of the new Tamrac bag. The slim profile of the bag  allows the weaker sex to carry their laptop without having to bother about the bulky and heavy extra load of the traditional laptop backpacks. The bag is equipped with sliding straps and foam-padded shoulder pads, which buffer the load of the bag and its contents.  The arrangement of the straps and the thick padding make the backpack easy to carry, even with some load in it.  The pocket in the front is very slim, but big enough to stow away lots for personal items.  Furthermore the bag comes with two large organizer pockets for things like PDAs, mobile phones, calculators etc.  Pen pockets and a leather holder for business cards with a zipped pocket inside the front flap for extra accessories in combination with the stylish looks of the bag, determine this bag as a serious alternative for a business woman. 

Diving into the well padded main compartment, we detect two pockets for CDs, which can be closed with a zipper.  An extra long zippered pocket invites cables and cords to be placed into it.  At the back a more discrete pocket hides other small papers, which maybe should not be too accessible for other persons but the owner.  So this hidden zipped pocket is ideal for things you don’t want to loose, like your passport, a plane ticket or other similar valuable items. 

The exterior material of the bag is nylon.  This makes it water resistant and easy to clean.  The backpack weighs only a fraction more than 2 pounds, less than 1 kg.  Despite the fantastic slim design, which gives the bag a formal look as a business case, the biggest advantage is also its biggest disadvantage. The limited size of the bag doesn’t qualify it for extended travel activities.  On the other hand, Tamrac did not design this laptop backpack for travelers; they have got other backpacks at store, which are more suitable for this purpose.  Like for all other bags, Tamrac is giving a lifetime warranty for this bag too. What about the price? The bag seems to be so new that there was no price tag on it as of now. . .   priceless. . .
